Airport Hangar Under Construction

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

FPBH, Inc. provided the building and site design for the North Vernon Airport hangar. The hangar is designed for storage and maintenance of small aircraft. This hangar is designed with a Hydro Swing that allows the entire door to be lifted 90 degrees, allowing for the maximum overhead clearance.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

FPBH, Inc. provided the design for a Corten Steel walk-bridge that is 50 ft. long and 8 ft. wide. The bridge replaces a critical connection of the Springmill trail system across the lake overflow drain. This bridge is expected to be low maintenance and blend with nature over time.

Inside Wet Lab

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project included the design of a science wet lab addition to the existing Education and Training center. This also included the renovation and addition of a men's and women's restroom.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

FPBH provided the building design utilizing efficiencies of pole barn construction practices. An existing garage was renovated and expanded to house the school.
All design of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, site, and architecture by FPBH to obtain an Indiana Construction Design Release.

FPBH, Inc. provided the complete building and site design for this project. The building contains office area, ADA restrooms, conference room, break room, reception, and a large open floor second story for storage.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project included a renovation and transformation of an abandoned nursing home to be able to accommodate an education and training center. This building also has the capacity to contain other uses in the future when it is needed.

FPBH Inc., designed and coordinated this project including site work and interior work. The site work included a new parking lot, old pavement removal and resurfacing, drainage plans, landscaping, and lighting. The interior work included demolition of existing walls, construction of new partitions, finishing work, public ADA restroom design, and lighting.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project included the design of four units with four apartments and one utility room in each. One apartment in each building was designed to be ADA compliant.

FPBH, Inc. provided the survey, right-of-way, preliminary, and final design engineering, specifications, bid documents, construction stakeout, construction inspection and material testing services for this locally funded bridge project for the Jefferson County Commissioners.

Jennings County Bridge #51

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

FPBH, Inc. provided the construction engineering, inspection, and material testing services for this Federal Aid/ locally funded bridge project for the Jennings County Commissioners.

The old bridge was a three span concrete T-beam in poor condition. The new bridge is a continuous three span precast/prestressed composite concrete I-beam bridge with a cast-in-place reinforced concrete deck. The center piers are set on a spread footer keyed into solid bedrock. The end bents are reinforced concrete integral caps on steel H-piles with spill through slopes protected by revetment riprap. Thrie-beam steel bridge railing was used on the bridge.

FPBH, Inc. has designed and inspected numerous other local bridge projects for the Jennings County Board of Commissioners.

FPBH provided comprehensive site development services for a new Walgreens corner location that was proposed to take the place where an existing House, Motel, Gas Station and Liquor Store had once stood.
Up Front services included client representation for Rezoning, Variances, Lot Consolidation, and Public Hearings. Topographic Survey, Demolition Plans, ALTA Survey, complete site design with State Design Release, INDOT driveway permit, Rule 5 Erosion Control Permit, drainage design with underground detention, as-built ALTA survey, ADA compliance survey, and construction staking, rounded out the comprehensive project services.

Hilex Railroad Spur

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project arose out of an innovative funding mechanism that involved a Grant from the State of Indiana, a grant from The City of North Vernon Redevelopment Commission, Hilex Poly owner participation, and service by Madison Railroad.

Hilex Poly had recently expanded their recycling operations, and required additional car storage and material transfer.

FPBH took the lead to coordinate all of the parties interests and needs for construction to occur while the factory remained in 24 hour operation.

The project included a new parallel siding with a No. 7 turnout, a commercial roadway crossing, and utilized AREMA standards and CSX specifications.

Pavilion Looking Toward Lanier Mansion

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project was a designed to allow better access to Lanier and the Visitors Center for visitors and included, new Parking Area completed for Visitors Center of Historic Lanier Site. A Concrete and Brick Pavilion is also included with this project. The two areas are connected with a sidewalk which has a spiral stairway and a curved sidewalk. ADA accessibility for sidewalks is maintained between the difficult terrain.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

In 1994 in conjunction with Lowe’s as owner, and Duke of Indianapolis as the building contractor, FPBH provided complete site drawings for building layout, truck access, storm drainage and detention, and utility providers, for this 110-truck Midwest distribution center, located on 120 acres in North Vernon, Indiana.

The Lowe’s site was expanded in 1998 and again in 2005. FPBH was instrumental in working with the owner, local public agencies, and utility providers. Construction staking was also provided for the contractors.
